Amazing Gluten-free Burrito from GlutenFreeda!

Glutenfreeda makes the best frozen gluten-free cookies we’ve ever had. We have tried every similar product on the market and nothing compares to the goodness – or rather deliciousness – of the Glutenfreeda cookies. If you use to enjoy “cut and bake” gluten chocolate chip cookies when you ate gluten, give the Glutenfreeda version a try. Though I’ve not tried the Snickerdoodle cookies from the line, people tell me they compete with the best gluten versions out there as well.

Quite a while back, I tried a vegetarian and dairy free gluten-free burrito from Glutenfreeda. No, I did not mean to pick up a dairy-free version and I was very sorry that I did. It’s made with tofu and not something I’d ever try again. That bad experience stayed with me for a while so I never picked up another version – with cheese – of the burritos until recently. Finally, I decided to risk it and try the Vegetarian Bean & Cheese burrito.

Even after I had the new Glutenfreeda burrito in the freezer, it took me months to finally eat it. You just cut off one end of the wrapper, put it on a microwave safe plate and cook on high for a few minutes. It took almost a minute longer than the instructions said to cook it in my microwave. However, it was definitely worth the wait. The burrito was really not to be believed. It was better than any gluten version I’ve had in the past. Admittedly, I’ve not had many of those, but the ones I did try don’t hold a candle to this fantastic product!

The rice, beans and cheese in the burrito all blend together with a nice flavor and great texture. The taste of the tortilla itself reminds me of our fave product from LaTortilla Factory. It’s simply a wonderful product overall. The taste is excellent, it’s easy to make and super convenient. I’m really sorry that I waited so long to try this item. I mistakenly assumed that all the burritos from the line were bad because I didn’t like the tofu version. That was not a fair conclusion for me to make, to say the least.

Now that I’ve tried this amazing Vegetarian Bean & Cheese burrito, I want to try all the other versions. At least, I want to try the ones that contain real cheese and do not contain tofu. The other notable product from this line is the Ice Cream Sandwiches. I think Whole Foods might have dropped this item, which is a shame. They were really tasty, if a bit different from a traditional gluten ice cream sandwich. If you like flavored oatmeal, check out the certified gluten-free instant oatmeal from Glutenfreeda. I’d love them to offer a plain version, as I don’t care for flavored oatmeal and the instant packs are very handy when traveling. All you need is some water and a microwave for a quick and healthy gluten-free breakfast!

UPDATE: See the comments below. According to Glutenfreeda, they now offer their handy oatmeal pouch in a plain, non-flavored version!

Thank you for the kind review. At Glutenfreeda we do our very best to deliver authentic tasting products to our friends. I thought you might be interested in noting that Glutenfreeda does offer a “Natural” instant oatmeal (unflavored). It is available through most distributors. It should be easy to request your retail store to carry it.
Again, thank you for the kind words.

Tiffany Glutenfreeda does offer a plain ,unflavored oatmeal. I love all of their products too.

  3. Thanks for letting me know about the plain oatmeal. When the company sent me the sample pack quite a while back there wasn’t a plain version. That is fabulous news for me because oatmeal packs are easier to pack for trips than a muffin ;)
