Amy’s offers a very nice selection of gluten-free foods in the U.S. In addition to soups, sauces and salsa, the company offers an array of frozen entrees and even a divine chocolate cake. Amy’s was one of the first gluten-free soup lines I found after my celiac diagnosis. I remember feeling everything would be okay once I not only found the soups labeled gluten-free, but found several of them to be delicious as well.
My latest favorite find from Amy’s is the chocolate cake which I reviewed here. It is ridiculously delicious and can be enjoyed without adding any frosting. The company just introduced gluten-free cookies as well, but I’ve not seen them in stores here yet. Of course, I’ve also not looked for them on purpose because I’m still doing a low carb diet for now.

Amy’s is opening a manufacturing facility over in the U.K. In early June, the company will start production there and will grow the staff and product line as they become more familiar to the needs in that particular market. Below are some more details about the new venture.
[Amy's] UK and Europe business development director Steve Warnert told FoodManufacture.co.uk that Amy’s has now recruited members of its management team including technical, production and sales directors as well as a product development chef from London vegetarian restaurant Mildreds.
A total of 30 staff would be in place for launch in early June, and the 58,000 sq ft Corby site has capacity for 200-300 staff over the next two to three years.
Amy’s never outsourced production Warnert said, and would be making ingredients such as tofu on site as well as canning soups.
“Initially what we sell will be pretty similar to the range in the UK, because that is what we know how to do. But as we get more familiar with the market we will be creating new recipes,” he said. (continue reading)
Amy’s makes many items that are free of several allergens. To find them, you just need to check the allergens you avoid on their special diets page. This will bring up a list of items that meets your needs (if available). The products are sold at mainstream grocery stores, health food stores and Whole Foods Markets. Many of the items are available online from Amazon.com and a plethora of other online food companies. You can check for stores that sell the products near you by using the store locator on the Amy’s website.

Tiffany, according to the company the cookies won’t be out until June/July. I got to try them at Expo West and they are really good. It is quite odd that they are making cookies, but I am glad they hit a home run with both flavor and texture.
Ooohh…..I am excited about the cookies! Yay! Still need to try that cake, too!
