Amy’s Kitchen has been one of my favorite gluten-free food companies since I started on the gluten-free diet. One of the first meals that I tried from Amy’s was the Tamale Pie and I loved it! We also really like the Mac & Cheese, Teriyaki Bowl and Pizza. Tiffany wrote a great review of Amy’s Kitchen products.
I was cleaning out my inbox today when I came across an email from Amy’s asking me to vote for them in the Veggie Awards from Veg News Magazine. That very email is where I read about the burritos. There is a bean & cheese and a rice & bean (dairy-free) burrito. There is only 1 other company that I know of that has a frozen, pre-made, gluten-free burrito on the market and that is Glutenfreeda. Gluten-free foods have come such a long way.
Amy’s Kitchen also has several other new products that hit the market this year, including a chocolate cake, gluten-free roasted vegetable pizza, gluten-free, soy-free, non-dairy mac & cheese (made with Daiya cheese) and roasted vegetable tamale. Kudos to Amy’s for keeping up with the ever-changing needs of the market and keeping those with Celiac disease, food allergies & intolerances in mind. In addition to the frozen meals, Amy’s also makes a nice variety of gluten-free pasta sauces, refried beans, salsas & soups.

Amy’s even has a gluten-free diet plan laid out for those who need a little help figuring out what to eat. The diet is 14 days long and has all meals & snacks laid out. After looking at the nutritional information, it may not be a plan for everyone (it is a little high in sodium due to all of the packaged goods), but it may be a good model to follow for those just starting out.
