CFIA Issues Recall for PROLAB Nutrition Protein Products

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has issued a food recall for some PROLAB brand nutrition protein products. Issued on October 2, 2011, products sold in both the 2lb and 5lb sizes have been recalled due to undeclared wheat/gluten (and milk in some products).

At this time there have been no reports of illness due to the undeclared allergens in the product which were primarily sold in Ontario, Canada and possibly nationally.  The US manufacturer, Prolab Nutrition Inc. (Prolab) is voluntarily recalling the affected products from the marketplace.  CFIA is working with the USFood and Drug Administration (USFDA) and the Canadian importers to have the affected product removed from the marketplace.
