If you haven’t already heard the wonderful news about Dunkin’ Donuts, I am here to make your Friday even better. Last December there was news that Dunkin’ Donuts was trying a couple of gluten-free products in a test market area. Apparently the products did well because all Dunkin’ Donuts across the US will be carrying the gluten-free products by the end of the year!
There will be two different gluten-free products offered:
- Cinnamon Sugar Donut – an old-fashioned cake donut coated with cinnamon sugar. Suggested retail price: $1.89
- Blueberry Muffin – features all of the best attributes of Dunkin’ Donuts’ classic blueberry muffin, including being topped with our signature crunchy baking sugar. Suggested retail price: $ 2.39
More from the Dunkin’ Donuts blog:
Our culinary and commercialization teams have worked very hard to create these new gluten free menu items to be just as delicious as all of our product offerings. It took a great deal of experimentation to come up with the correct, unique blend of rice flours and certain starches such as potato and tapioca to replace traditional wheat flour.
The new products are certified gluten-free by the Gluten-Free Certification Organization (GFCO), made in a dedicated facility and will be individually packaged to avoid cross-contamination. The gluten-free donut has 320 calories and the gluten-free muffins has 400 calories. There are 7,600 Dunkin’ Donuts across the US. That is a lot of gluten-free donuts and muffins!
