It seems like each day gluten-free dining gets just a little safer and easier, much of which can be attributed to the growing awareness of our gluten-free needs by major chain restaurants, as well as the internet resources getting better. Here are a few resources that are focused competely on gluten-free restaurant information:
Gluten-Free Restaurant Awareness Program - The Gluten-Free Restaurant Awareness Program (GFRAP) facilitates a relationship between individuals with celiac disease and other forms of gluten intolerance, and restaurants. The relationship builds a win-win opportunity for restaurants to provide service to people following a gluten-free diet, and to gain increased patronage. Participating restaurants are able to provide gluten-free meals from their regular meals. GFRAP is a program of the Gluten Intolerance Group of North America.
Gluten-Free Restaurants - GFRestaurants.com is a website which focuses exclusively on providing information and reviews of gluten-free restaurant menus. The community then has the opportunity to leave comments and share both their positive and negative experiences with each establishment. While the primary focus has traditionally been on major restaurant chains, more recently many local restaurant chains have been featured on the website.
Note: GFRestaurants.com also offers a maintained list of
gluten-free restaurants by state.
