GF Disney – Gluten and Allergen Free Disney World By GlutenFree Passport

Just recently I wrote an article reviewing some products by GlutenFree Passport.  Since I wrote this article, a new product has become available that I would love to share with you – an app for the iPod Touch, iPhone and iPad for gluten-free dining at Disney World.  While I have read about dining being fairly easy to navigate at Disney World, it is certainly nice to have a tool like this available to simplify things.

Some details about the new GF Disney app:

Find safe meal options at 130-plus table service restaurants, quick service restaurants, food stands and food courts throughout WD World®. Discover specific gluten free and allergen friendly menu items and pre-packaged snacks available throughout the Parks from over 35 manufacturers.

Now enjoy your vacation / holiday and eat foods at WDW free from dairy, egg, fish, gluten, peanuts, shellfish, soy, tree nuts and wheat.

All of the information listed in this app reflects printed materials as of June 2011 produced by WDW Company which are available upon request via phone or email to WDW. The safe snack and dining suggestions include:

No Gluten Added Products (12/15/2010)
– Magic Kingdom® Park
– Epcot®
– Disney’s Animal Kingdom® Park
– Disney’s Hollywood Studios™
Food Allergy / Dietary Reference Sheets (1/28/2010)
– Prepackaged Snacks
– Specialty Products for Guests with Food Allergies
– Additional Information
Water Parks Menu Items (12/14/2010)
Allergy Free Chicken Tenderloins (No Date Indicated)
Gluten Free Options at Downtown Disney (No Date Indicated)
Allergy Menus for the Operating Participants at EPCOT® (No Date Indicated)

Gluten and Allergen Free Disney World is part of the award-winning Let’s Eat Out! series of apps, ebooks and books.

Discover more gluten free apps:
– iCanEat OnTheGo Gluten & Allergen Free for fast food menu items
– iEatOut Gluten & Allergen Free for expert gluten free advice on ethnic restaurant cuisines, ingredients and meal preparation
– GF Chicago for hundreds of gluten free restaurants, bakeries & sport /entertainment venues throughout Chicagoland and in over 80 suburbs

I purchased & downloaded this new app to my iPod Touch today to give it a whirl.  I have never been to Disney World, much to the chagrin of my children, but for as much as we travel & dine out, I felt I was still qualified to peruse & use the app.  I found the app extremely user friendly and intuitive.  The sections of Disney World are separated out and then broken down into individual dining establishments/hotels/parks/etc.  Within those breakdowns, gluten-free foods are listed.  It really seems like Disney World is a very gluten-free friendly place, just as I have heard.

I can see this tool being priceless for a gluten-free trip to Disney World.  Having this information literally at your fingertips as opposed to carrying lists is well worth the purchase price of $2.99.  I don’t know about you, but lists end up at the bottom of my large purse crumpled up with receipts that I have every good intention of keeping.

The GF Disney – Gluten and Allergen Free Disney World App is available exclusively at the itunes store along with the other apps created by GlutenFree Passport.  I just discovered today that “there is an app for that” for Chicago gluten-free dining!  I think that every large major city, large amusement park & such could benefit from apps like these.

Awesome! This is why my wife and I switched to iPhones a few months ago and now I don’t know how I ever lived without it. 🙂

    Downloading now….

We vacation at Disney World all the time, and I have not found a better place to eat with having a food allergy than Disney – they are unbelievable! I cannot praise their gluten-free food and service enough!
