Are you planning a trip to Elitch Gardens theme park? Not sure about gluten-free food in the park? Can you bring your own food in to the park? I emailed the park to find out and received the following email:
Hello Tiffany,
Thank you for contacting Elitch Gardens. Since you have a medical condition, you will be able to bring some food into our park. Just tell our security guards the reason. You can also leave food in a cooler in your car, as we have a re-entry policy. The only food we have in the park that is gluten-free is our hot dogs, ice cream, and salads. Please feel free to email again with any further questions. We look forward to seeing you this year at Elitch Gardens!

When I went to the park I packed a sandwich on gluten-free bread, some small baggies of snacks, and printed this email to show to the security guards at the front gate. No one asked my about my food, so there was no problem. I didn’t chance any of the food in the park because I had packed enough food for my day.
If you are looking at visiting other theme parks be sure to contact them, either by email or phone, to see about their food policy. If you get an email reply, print it out to take with you and show the security or gate guards. If you make a telephone contact, ask for that person int he event of a problem at the gate. Even if they have gluten-free options in the park, packing your own food will ensure a meal if there is a problem the day that you go. Being prepared if the best way to make sure you have a fun day!
