There has been a lot of hoopla over the past few days regarding the discovery of California Pizza Kitchen’s careless kitchen procedures. I feel like sometimes we are taking two steps forward and one step back with gluten-free dining out. Maybe it is because the industry is growing so fast and everybody and their brother wants to hop on that bandwagon without the proper education & training? Who knows. As I was writing about a local pizza place that does things correctly on my own blog, Gluten-Free is Life, I discovered another pizza place, Naked Pizza, that has locations across the country and offers gluten-free pizza. I headed over to their website to check out the menu and to see if they had any information on their kitchen procedures.
I have to tell you that I was blown away by what I found – a video explaining how they prepare the pizza with separate everything – pans, utensils, toppings and such. This isn’t rocket science, folks. I would love for more companies to take this approach in feeding their gluten-free customers. The key to a successful business is happy customers. Happy customers are loyal and have big mouths, meaning they tell their friends and family. Check out the video below of the procedures at Naked Pizza.
In addition to the kitchen procedures, Naked Pizza boasts some pretty great pizzas. The gluten-free pizzas are $9.99 for a 12-inch pizza with your choice of toppings ($1.69 each). Or, order one of the favorites on the menu ($14.99).
- Ragin’ Cajun
- Sonoran
- Omnivore
- Smokehouse
- Pima
- Farmvil
- Superbiotic
- Greenhouse

Where can you get Naked? Naked Pizza has many locations across the US and in Dubai. The only one in Ohio is located in Cincinnati, so I will have to make a detour next time I am down that way. Naked Pizza doesn’t have dine-in, only delivery or take-out. I would love for someone to deliver a gluten-free pizza to me. Think the location in Cincinnati will deliver to Columbus? Have you tried Naked Pizza? What did you think?
