If you’ve been reading this site for awhile, you may remember that we mentioned back in January that Elizabeth Hasselbeck (of The View), one of the more notable celebrity voices for the Celiac Disease community, has released a new book.
Well, the wait is over and this book is finally available today! If you are interested, you can currently purchase it on Amazon for only $16.49, which is about 66% off the standard price. Here is the description for the book:
For years, Elisabeth Hasselbeck couldn’t figure out what was making her sick. She asked doctors and consulted nutritionists, but no one seemed to have any answers. It wasn’t until spending time in the Australian Outback, living off the land on the grueling Survivor TV show, that, ironically, her symptoms vanished. Returning home, she pinpointed the food that made her sick — gluten, the binding element in wheat. By simply eliminating it from her diet, she was able to enjoy a completely normal, healthy life. But that wasn’t all. Hasselbeck discovered the myriad benefits that anyone can enjoy from a gluten-free diet: from weight loss and increased energy to even the alleviation of the conditions of autism.
In this all-inclusive book, Hasselbeck shares her hard-earned wisdom on living life without gluten and loving it. She gives you everything you need to know to start living a gluten-free life, from defining gluten – where to find it, how to read food labels – to targeting gluten-free products, creating G-Free shopping lists, sharing recipes, and managing G-Free living with family and friends.
If you are thinking about buying this book, be sure to grab your copy while the book is still at its introductory price!

I recently read this book. While her intentions are good and the basic information is good, she gives advice that I would never follow. She states that when you get gluten, you should get on the treadmill and sweat it out. Personally, if I get gluten, I can hardly move. She also calls it an allergy all the way through the book. Not the first book for new celiacs.
Barb – I agree there is a lot of bad advice in this book. However, there is also quite a bit of misinformation in it regarding ingredients. For that reason, I also agree that book is NOT for a newly gluten-free person. All it would do is confuse them which isn’t helpful at all.
