Gluten Sensitivity & Bladder Disease

From my personal experiences as well as in speaking with others at various functions, it is obvious to me that eating gluten can cause all sorts of problems in people with a gluten sensitivity.

The story always starts out the same, with the person experiencing all sorts of problems.   Remove gluten for a few months and not only are their Celiac symptoms gone, but often many of their other problems they were experiencing are also gone!

If you find you have a number of bladder problems, it looks like this is also something that being on a gluten free diet could help, according to a recent post over at Celiac.com:

Now, twelve years after my interstitial cystitis diagnosis, my urologist readily agrees that gluten negatively affects the bladder in some portion of her patients, and that eliminating gluten leads to a reduction in symptoms. All of my urine tests are perfectly normal and I sleep at night.  Still, there are almost no published journal articles linking gluten intolerance and the bladder.

The post mentions they are trying to get the word out there, so we wanted to do our part and share this story with our readers in case any missed it.    If you know of anyone who has bladder disease, it couldn’t hurt to pass this information along to them!
