A Link Between Autism, living Gluten Free, and Dairy?

Are Autism, eating dairy products, and living gluten free all linked?  According to a recent LA times article, it looks like some researchers from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston aim to find finally find out once and for all.  Thirty-eight children with autism ages 3 to 9 will first have all gluten and dairy removed from their diet. Then half will be given gluten and milk powder and the other half a placebo. Then progress will be tracked for four weeks. Behavior will be tracked using psychological tests and leakiness of the gut via urine tests.

I’ve seen a large number of accounts from people saying they are linked so I think it will be interesting to see how this study turns out.   There are almost as many cases of autism in the world as there are of Celiacs, so having a study to support this common theory could eventually improve a lot of lives.
