This article is a follow up post to this post, which featured several gluten-free restaurant menus throughout Surrey in the United Kingdom.
If you are driving around in Surrey, UK and you wish to visit a bar/restaurant with real character then try Bar 163 Chertsey on London Road, Chertsey, Surrey. It is found in the original old Chertsey Town Hall, which has been converted into a quirky style restaurant/ bar with high ceilings and weird but wonderful decor. They offer a fine mix of British and European food, catering for gluten free needs and other allergy friendly dishes. On many evenings it has live music and Jazz nights. If it’s warm then you can sit on the terrace and enjoy a Mediterranean speciality.
Another gluten free friendly restaurant in Surrey is The Lobster Pot, which is located at 40 Upper Hale Road, Farnham, Surrey. This is an excellent pub/restaurant on the borders of Surrey and Hampshire. It specialises in English, European and Seafood, with a number of good gluten free choices. The fresh fish is cooked on the Planche (Spanish for griddle, there are 4 in the kitchen). This means your choice can be quickly freshly cooked and its very fresh and gluten free.
Another quite unusual restaurant is The Bel & The Dragon, found in Bridge Street, Godalming, Surrey. The restaurant is set in a cavernous, light-filled old church, with majestic beamed ceilings, flagstone floors, an oak beamed bar, a crackling open fire and a Mediterranean-style heated garden. The menu is modern British, with many gluten free dishes on the menu.
