Delicious New Gluten-free Bar in Town!

Energy or snack bars are something most people who can’t eat gluten keep on hand at all times. They’re shelf stable, easy to pack and many versions are quite nutritious. It’s a good idea to always have a gluten-free bar around in case you get stuck without something safe to eat.

KIND and Oskri bars are among my favorite bars, though they are both rather high in fat and calories. Enjoy Life bars are free of almost everything except taste! Bars by Glutino and Bumble Bars are big sellers in the gluten-free market. Environkidz bars are popular with both kids and some adults.

Larabar treats are also a favorite at our house, but they are really like a dessert snack. With unusual flavors like “Pecan Pie” and “Ginger Snap”, these bars are quite delicious! The “Apple Pie” bar was the first gluten-free bar I found paletable when I started looking for one three years ago.

These days there are more gluten-free bars available that I can list here. If someone can’t find a bars they like, they aren’t looking very hard. Health food stores – and even some grocery stores - tend to offer a good selection of gluten-free bars. There should be something to suit everyone’s taste, no doubt!

eatnaturalThere is a new gluten-free bar on the market “Eat Natural”. The bars are gluten-free, cholesterol free and do not contain artificial flavors or colors. They are high in both calories and fat. The Macadamia bar has 223 calories - yikes!

The good news is that most flavors have a good amount of protein and fiber. “Eat Natural” bars are my new favorite bar. I’ve only had one flavor but it was incredible enough for me to want to try them all! And wouldn’t you know they are imported – from the UK. My husband also thinks these are stellar tasting bars, and he’s a bit pickier about bars than I am.

What is your favorite gluten-free bar?

Note: Not all KIND bars are gluten-free.

I liked the Enjoy Life ones, but Larabar is a necessity! Finding foods to take “on the go” is the most difficult thing, and Larabars fill that need nicely. I just wish they were a little healthier!
