It seems like every week there is a new gluten-free cereal hitting the U.S. Market. Nature’s Path Organic just released two gluten-free cereals and asked me to sample and review them. I’m really not a cereal person but I always employ my glutenoid husband to give his take on any cereals I review. The company was kind enough to sponsor a give-away of one of each of the new offerings to one of our readers!
First up was the Crunchy Maple Sunrise. I’m always wary of any cereal with maple in the title because I usually find them way too sweet. The Nature’s Path version was a nice surprise in that is was in no way too sweet. It was perfectly sweetened, crunchy and all-around delicious! My husband was also surprised that the cereal wasn’t too sweet and quickly devoured the rest of the box in two mornings. I told you he was a cereal person!
I’m not sure what I expected from the Crunchy Vanilla Sunrise cereal but what I got was a cereal that was really too sweet for me. The crunch factor was great and the taste was very good except for the sweetness. My husband did not think the cereal was too sweet but didn’t care for the overall taste. He concluded that he would buy the Maple cereal but not the Vanilla version.
Nature’s Path Organic gets huge points for offering healthy, yet tasty cereals to the gluten-free set. The cereals are a blend of corn, rice, flax, quinoa, buckwheat and aramanth. There are no ingredients you can’t pronounce or understand – always a plus for me!

That is two boxes of cereal – one Crunchy Maple Sunrise and one Crunchy Vanilla Sunrise in a Nature’s Path bag. The random winner will be chosen this Friday, October 30, 2009. The prize box of cereals ships direct from Nature’s Path to the winner. Good luck!

I just reviewed the new Sunrise cereals on my blog. Both flavors are great!
That’s awesome! I tried the Maple Sunrise, it was quite tasty in a parfait.
As I read this I’m having a bowl of Mesa Sunrise for breakfast. When I was diagnosed with Celiac in May and did a thorough search for the most nutritious cold cereal I could find, Nature’s Path won. Great to hear there are additional flavors now, and I expect they will be equally nutritious. Kudos to Nature’s Path and thanks for the heads up, Tiffany.
Ohhhh I cant wait to try the Maple Sunrise. How perfect for fall! These look awesome-sure hope my natural food store gets them soon!
I love the Maple Sunrise!
They sound great especially the maple one as Im not into too sweet a cereal either!! I hope they are available in Ireland as I know some of their products are!! Thank you for the review!!
The Nature’s Path Organic Crunchy Maple & Vanilla cereals sound very delicious! It’s great to know there are tasty choices for a gluten free breakfast. I hope I can find them in the gluten free section of my local grocery store. Thank you Tiffany for keeping us updated on the new products.
Both of these cereals can be purchased locally in Atlanta at Return to Eden.
I love Mesa Sunrise cereal and eat it every morning. I add raisins and homemade granola. These new ones look delicious!
My wife raves about these cereals.
I think both cereals sound great, it is nice to see that you can get a cereal that taste good and also is good for you at the same time. When you are on the Gluten Free Diet for Celiac disease you try so hard to help fulfill your body’s needs with good healthy food which is sometimes hard to find enough items that are truely good for you and not just something that you can just eat. this cereal actually looks great taste great and fills your body with the nutritients it needs to rebuild your body back to where it should be or better than what you started with. These cereals give you the supplements that your body is starving for to help it get back to normal
I’ve also heard very good things about these cereals.
I do not like the Mesa Sunrise cereal at all. That is why I was pleasantly surprised that these cereals were so tasty!
Can’t wait to try it!
I can’t wait to try these. I love all the new gluten free choices.
I can’t wait to try these new cereals! I lived on Envirokids Panda Puffs after first being diagnosed. I am ready for an adult cereal.
I haven’t come across this cereal here on the west coast. Is it an eastern thing?
