Osteoporosis Drugs Linked to Esophageal Cancer

According to a recent study by the US FDA, it appears that there is an increased risk of esophageal cancer in patients who are taking bisphosphonate drugs.    Because many people with Celiac Disease will often develop Osteopenia/Osteoporosis, this is something that the Celiac community should be aware of.

If you’ve been placed on a bone mass building prescription such as Fosamax, Actonel, Didronel or Boniva, you’ll want to contact your doctor and see if you should continue using them.
