If you live in the United States, chances are you’ve seen an Outback Steakhouse, as they are all over the United States. Did you know they offer a gluten free menu? Of course I can’t speak for all of them, but the ones here in Iowa have also been very knowledgable and helpful when reminding the server about cross-contamination.
If you are planning to visit an Outback Steakhouse, you’ll want to review and print their menu to take with you, which can be found here (will prompt you to download the PDF file).
I’m sure many of you have also tried Outback Steakhouse’s gluten free menu. Let us know your experiences in the comments!

I have had mostly good experiences with Outback and their gluten free menu. I travel and have found that each location is a bit different regarding their awareness of gf. My suggestion to anyone is to be very polite and clear about what you need and don’t hesitate to ask for the manager. I have often asked for the manager to give praise when the service has been good. I also always go to the Outback website on the service (either way) and name staff as well. I have found that the feedback is transmitted back to the individual location and staff.
Outback also runs Bonefish Grill and Carraba’s..who all have gf menus!
@ Michael – Thanks for sharing your experiences!
I think submitting feedback via their website is an excellent idea! I will keep that in mind next time I go there.
As a server and a Public Health Education Major, I am excited to know that some restaurants are listening and making an attempt to include everyone in their menus. I also wanted to note that I while the restaurant I work at does not have a gluten-free menu, I am more than happy to go in the back and check any labels that I can!
