Looking for a quick, nutritious way to feed the family on busy school nights? Paolo Mascitti, celebrity trainer, lifestyle expert and founder of cibo verde, shares this awesome Gluten-Free Meat & Veggie Pizza with us. The recipe is so simple that an older child or teen could help to make things a little easier in the kitchen. Perhaps even a little “Make Your Own” action where everyone grabs a tortilla and then chooses the toppings they want from a selection of healthy options.
Gluten-Free Meat and Veggie Pizza
1 oz cooked steak (diced)
1 oz yellow onions
2 oz red and green peppers (julienne cut )
2 oz pizza sauce
3 oz of fresh mozzarella cheese
Place the gluten-free tortilla on a baking sheet/pan, add marinara making sure to spread evenly on crust, followed by cheese, onions, peppers and steak.
Place baking pan with the tortilla pizza in the oven for 5 minutes just to allow the cheese to melt.
The entire process will take no more than 10 minutes and you’re ready to eat! BON APPETIT!
Toppings can be modified to fit specific preferences, though the above sounds great to me! I haven’t ever used a tortilla as a base for pizza before, so I am looking forward to giving this a try.
