Review: Canyon Bakehouse Colorado Caraway Bread

Fasten your seatbelts, ladies & gentlemen – I have found gluten-free rye-like bread!  The new Colorado caraway bread from Canyon Bakehouse may have just catapulted to the top of my gluten-free bread list.

Though my first instinct was to make a Reuben sandwich, I sadly didn’t have the ingredients I needed on hand.  I “settled” for a turkey & Swiss with spicy brown mustard & spinach.


I had the bread stored in the freezer & toasted before I made the sandwich.  The aroma drifting up from the bread brought me back to my pre-gluten-free days! As you can see, I couldn’t wait to take a bite!  This was hands down one of the most enjoyable sandwiches I have had in a very long time.  The bread can be stored on the counter for several days, or in the freezer for longer periods.  Toasting is optional.  Canyon Bakehouse products are certified gluten-free and produced in a dedicated gluten-free facility.  They are also dairy, nut & soy free.  In addition to the new Colorado caraway, they also make the following:
