I have been eyeing the gnocchi made by Conte’s in my health food store’s freezer for a while now. I finally took the plunge and bought some last week. The price had been holding me back at close to $8 for a small package.
Conte’s has a decent sized gluten-free line of products, including:
CHEESE RAVIOLI 12oz
SPAGHETTI 16oz
ELBOWS 16oz
SPINACH/CHEESE RAV 12oz
FUSILLI 16oz
PIEROGIES ( POT/CH/ONION) 12oz
CHICKEN/BROC RABE 12oz
RIGATONI 16oz
PIEROGIES (POTATO/ONION) 12oz
CHEESE STUFFED SHELLS 12oz
SPIRALS 16oz
GNOCCHI
I have not tried any of their products previous to the gnocchi because most of them contain onions and I can’t eat onions. I was pleased to see the gnocchi was onion-free. The gnocchi was super easy to cook and made for a quick meal. I just warmed up a marinara and alfredo sauce to go along with the gnocchi.
I was very impressed by the taste and texture of the gnocchi, as were the kids. They both really enjoyed the meal. Great idea for hectic school or late work nights. I was disappointed that while the package says there are 3 servings in it, it really only served 2. Additionally, the sodium content was very high at almost 1000 mg/serving! That doesn’t even take into account any sauce or other ingredients you may add to the gnocchi.
