Review: Crofter’s Organic Superfruit Spread

I consider myself to be a connoisseur of jellies, jams, fruit spreads and preserves.  I usually have one of the afore mentioned each morning on my gluten-free waffle, rice cakes or gluten-free oatmeal. When I got a coupon text from Earth Fare for a free jar of Crofter’s the other day, I chose the North America Superfruit Spread.

The Superfruit Spreads come in four varieties: Europe, Asia, North America and South America.  More about the North America variety:

What berry combination could possibly be more North American? With a sweet but tart taste, cranberries and blueberries join forces to create this comforting and irresistible spread. Loaded with antioxidants and vitamins, cranberries and blueberries have been used therapeutically on this continent for centuries to treat a variety of ailments.

Wild cranberries and blueberries blended with red grapes and morello cherries.

The ingredient list is short – love that!  Kudos to Crofter’s for putting the “A Gluten Free Food” label on their product.

One of the things I like best about this spread is that it is not too sweet.  Yes, there is a small amount of cane sugar added, but I don’t feel like I am eating dessert for breakfast.  I love the chunks of fruit and the different flavors and textures!  While I have been sticking with the traditional breakfast items, I may give this a try on top of a scoop of vanilla or chocolate ice cream!

Crofter’s products can be found in select stores across the US, including Whole Foods.

Have you tried any of the Crofter’s Organic products?  If so, which ones?
