It was just last summer that Glutenfreeda debuted the world’s first gluten-free burrito, so it only seems fitting that it is now time for them to debut the world’s first pizza wrap! Do you remember Hot Pockets? These pizza wraps are basically a hand-held pocket of pizza like the Hot Pockets are, but they are gluten-free! Brilliant! I know that these new wraps will make a lot of gluten-free people out there very happy.

The new Glutenfreeda Pizza Wraps come in three different varieties: Italian Sausage, Three Cheese and Pesto Chicken. They are made with all natural ingredients, no trans fats or no hydrogenated oils. They are literally ready in a matter of minutes if they are made in the microwave, but can be baked in the oven as well. Once Jon discovered that we had these, there was no keeping him out of them. He had 3 the first day they were in the house, just last Friday. He started with the Three Cheese and then went to the Italian Sausage and then back to the Three Cheese. He said I could have the Pesto Chicken at first (gee, that was nice of him, huh?). Then, he decided he wanted to try the Pesto Chicken since he liked the others so much. He picked a fine time to be adventurous with his food. The verdict? Jon loved these! He quickly asked me where I could buy more and when I could go get them. The Three Cheese was his favorite variety, but he really liked the others as well. He said that the Italian Sausage & Pesto Chicken didn’t taste as much like “pizza” should, but more like a burrito. I only got a chance to sample the Pesto Chicken and really liked it. I did think it was kind of a cross between a burrito and a pizza wrap, but that may have to do with the rice in the wrap. Doesn’t bother me any, I put all kinds of things on my pizzas. It is now Monday and there are no more pizza wraps in our house. Nothing like the testament of a picky teen boy inhaling 5 pizza wraps over the course of 2 days to demonstrate how tasty a new product is.

In addition to the pizza wraps, Glutenfreeda is also debuting a new variety of burrito – Shredded Beef and individual Cheesecakes. I have yet to try the burrito or the cheesecakes, but will make sure to share my thoughts with you all once I do. I have been able to keep Jon away from the Shredded Beef Burrito at this point, but it may because I hid them under the frozen vegetables.

Oh my….now I really can’t wait for my review samples to arrive! I don’t care for cheesecake (of any variety) but their burritos are outstanding so I’m also hoping to find the new flavor at my store here soon!
Too funny….I can’t wait to find & try the cheesecake – I am a sucker for cheesecake – it is all I ate when I was pregnant with Jon! LOL!
Anything that has the word Pizza in it, has my attention! Looking forward to trying these wraps for those days I need a quick lunch.
I just tried the Italian Sausage variety and found not one, but two pebble-like objects (a little smaller than a pea) in the wrap that I assume (and hope!) were gristle chunks. Had I bit down hard on either of them my tooth definitely would have been chipped. It really turned me off to these. I love the Glutenfreeda burritos but I think they need to tweek this recipe, or at least find a different supplier of sausage.
Mike –
Did you contact the company to let them know? I am sure they would appreciate being made aware, as I am sure that is not an image they would like to portray.
