Review: Health Warrior Chia Bars

Keeping healthy, gluten-free snacks in my bag or purse is the way to stave off hunger, make smarter food choices and ensure that I know exactly what I am eating (less chance of gluten contamination).  I learned many years ago that if worse came to worse, I could always get a snack size bag of Fritos (Ingredients: Corn, oil, salt) in an emergency, but they certainly aren’t the healthiest option.

Health Warrior makes the cutest snack bars that are about half the size of a typical protein bar.  Chia Bars are packed full of healthy ingredients, come in a variety of flavors and are the perfect size to carry around in your bag or purse.

  • Banana Nut
  • Coffee
  • Acai Berry
  • Coconut
  • Apple Cinnamon
  • Chocolate Peanut Butter

In addition to being gluten-free, the bars are also free of soy and dairy (vegan).  One chia bar has:

  • 100 calories
  • 1000mg Omega-3
  • 4g fiber
  • Only 5g sugar
  • 4g protein

That’s a lot of nutritional bang for your buck – and they taste great, too!  I was a little worried about the texture, but I quickly fell in love with these bars.  More about Health Warrior:

Five centuries after the Aztec Warriors built an empire on the power of Chia, we learned about the benefits of Chia while reading the best-selling book Born to Run, about the Tarahumara Indians and their jaw-dropping long-distance runs. The Tarahumara, like the Aztecs before them, are Powered by Chia.

We looked into it further, and were floored by what we found. Turns out Chia is one of the most nutrient-dense foods on the planet.

We started eating Chia every day, on everything. Suddenly we were working out harder, lifting heavier, feeling stronger, and running farther, faster.

With that, Health Warrior was born.

Health Warrior is dedicated to vetting the world’s growers for the highest quality Chia and helping people conquer the many challenges of their everyday lives.

The name Health Warrior comes from two things:

One, it’s symbolic – Chia is for the Health Warrior in all of us. And the battle we’re waging is in support of our country’s health. Obesity and the health concerns that come with it are a serious problem; Health Warrior is about winning that battle and good health is the first step toward doing so.

Two, Chia Seeds have a history of powering Ancient Aztec Warriors through cross empire journeys. In fact, they carried just a pouch of Chia Seeds as their only sustenance during long battles.

Health Warrior Chia Bars can be purchased in many health food stores across the US or onlineHave you tried the Health Warrior Chia Bars?
