Review: J. Liu Restaurant & Bar

Last night I had the pleasure of trying a new-to-me restaurant, J. Liu, for our running group’s end of the season celebration. J. Liu has two locations in the Columbus area, in Dublin and Worthington. We met at the Worthington location, which is an absolutely gorgeous, 2-story building. They are capable of handling up to 300 guests in their ballroom! You don’t have to be celebrating a special occasion or be with a large party to enjoy J. Liu, though, as they have a gorgeous dining room for a fine casual dining experience.

I was impressed with the number of choices on the gluten-free menu (provided upon request). I asked the manager if he could also let me know which of those items would also be dairy-free, and there were quite a few! I ended up selecting the Chicken & Watermelon Salad. The salad was made with grilled chicken over mixed greens, kale, watermelon, mint leaf, red onion, walnut and feta cheese tossed in a white balsamic vinaigrette. I asked them to leave the feta cheese and red onions off, but didn’t miss them. The salad was a wonderful blend of flavors that I would have never imagined would go together so well! Well done, J. Liu!

It isn’t often that I branch out and go to restaurants that are not part of a large chain because I feel it is so complicated to eat safely. It is such a nice relief when I do find a local establishment that does such a good job catering to those with food sensitivities and allergies.
