Review: Julie’s Organic Gluten-Free Cherry Cheesecake Ice Cream Sandwich Cookies

Julie’s Organic Gluten-Free Cherry Cheesecake Ice Cream Sandwich Cookies sure is a mouthful, huh?  Literally and figuratively.  I happened to be looking for a sweet treat of some kind when I happened upon these gems in the freezer at Earth Fare.  Of course I knew about the original Julie’s Organic Gluten-Free Ice Cream Sandwich Cookies, but this was the first I learned about the new variety.


I didn’t even think twice about putting these in the cart.  Earth Fare sells four varieties and this one was on sale for $5.99.  I will talk more about the other varieties in a minute.

The Cherry Cheesecake Sandwich Cookies are a special treat.  Cherry cheesecake ice cream is sandwiched between two chocolate sandwich cookies.  I don’t know about you, but I love the combination of cherries and chocolate.  This ice cream sandwich may just be one of my new favorite treats!  What a delicious, unique dessert!  While my sandwich didn’t look as pretty as the picture on the box, it tasted as good, if not better, than I expected it to.  It was the perfect way to end my meal!


Now, onto the other varieties.  Of course there is the original Julie’s Organic Gluten-Free Vanilla Ice Cream Sandwich.  There are also two others – the newer Lemon Yogurt with Vanilla Cookie and Carrot Cake with Ginger Cookie.

Of course I would have loved to have brought these home, too, but they will have to wait until another day.  It would be nice if they had a combo pack with one of all four varieties in it.  The MSRP is $6.99 for 4 large ice cream sandwich cookies.  Julie’s Organic Gluten-Free Ice Cream Sandwich Cookies can be found in select health food stores across the US.

    I have had the lemon yogurt sandwich and loved them. However, I can no longer find them at any of the stores where I shop for gluten-free items.
