Review: MI-DEL Gluten-Free Gingerbread Men

I am not quite ready to listen to Christmas music, but when I spotted these cute little gingerbread men cookies from MI-DEL at Earth Fare earlier in the week, I couldn’t pass them up!  I have always loved gingerbread, but lack the patience to roll out dough (gluten-free or not) and cut out gingerbread men.  I love to bake, but prefer drop cookies because they are simple.

Aren’t these cookies adorable?  The cookies are also free of peanuts in addition to gluten.  The ingredients are:

Gluten-free flour (corn flour, soy flour, potato flour, rice flour, corn starch, potato starch, xanthan gum), sugar, modified tapioca starch, canola oil, unsulphured molasses, ginger, baking soda, organic caramel color, sea salt, soybean lecithin, xanthan gum.

More about MI-DEL:

MI-DEL Gluten-Free products are routinely tested using the ELISA method to ensure gluten-free status as determined by the World Health Organization.

These cookies are everything I hoped for and more!  They had just the right balance of ginger and molasses with a touch of sweetness.  The cookies were not too hard or too soft, they were just right.  They are relatively small, like two bites per cookie.  There are 4 cookies in a serving for 100 calories.

MI-DEL also makes many other varieties of gluten-free cookies:

  • Arrowroot
  • Chocolate Caramel
  • Chocolate Chip Cookies
  • Chocolate Sandwich Cookies
  • Cinnamon Snaps
  • Ginger Snaps
  • Pecan Flavored Cookies
  • S’mores
  • Vanilla Sandwich Cookies

MI-DEL products can be found in stores across the US.  To find the location nearest you, enter your zip code here.

Have you tried the MI-DEL Gingerbread Men?  What about any of the other MI-DEL products?

I loved these Gingerbread Men cookies last year and I will look forward to enjoying them again this year! Their Ginger Snaps are delicious, too!

There must be some confusion as I was given a box of MI-DEL Gingerbread Men cookies but it said it was made from WHEAT flour. On the bottom of the box it listed all their cookies including gluten free.
