Review: Moondance Desserts New Products

Moondance Desserts has introduced 3 new products to their line – Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars, Mexican Wedding Cookies, and Chocolate Crinkle Cookies.  I was shopping at Whole Foods earlier this week and when I passed by the display and I did a little dance.  I hope no one was looking, but I was so excited that I didn’t care.  The cheesecakes made by Moondance are amazing and for that reason, I couldn’t wait to try these new products.  My first instinct was to buy all 3 varieties so that I could sample them all at once, but I decided that I would choose only 2 and try the 3rd one the next time I was there.   Moderation, right?

I chose the Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars and the Mexican Wedding Cookies.  I was so excited to try them that I broke open the cookie bars in the car on the way home.  I never do that!  I was not disappointed.  The cookie bars were full of flavor – tender, buttery & full of chocolate chips.  I had to move the package to the back seat to keep from eating more on the way home!  The Mexican Wedding Cookies were just as good.  They are very close the the homemade version that I make at Christmas time.  Both of these could pass as homemade – simply remove from the packaging & place on your own plates to serve.  No one will ever know!  Each package was price at $5.99.  The cookie bars have 12 servings/bars and the cookies have 6 servings of 2 cookies each.

Last year, I had the pleasure of meeting Shelley Ritchie, owner of Moondance Desserts.  She is one of the sweetest, dedicated ladies that I have ever met.  She was not going to be discouraged with the gluten-free products that she was tasting.  She set out to perfect her own treats and has definitely found success!  Moondance Desserts are made in a gluten-free facility to avoid any chance of cross-contamination, but there are nuts present in the facility, so those with nut allergies should be cautious.  To read my review of Moondance Desserts Cheesecakes, click here.

Moondance Desserts can be found in many Whole Foods stores across the U.S.  Have you tried any of Moondance Desserts treats?  I can’t wait to try the Crinkle Cookies the next time I head out to Whole Foods.
