Review: Navitas Naturals Trail Mix

School is back in session, so it is essential that both kids and teachers have food to fuel them and their brains through the day.  Even older kids and adults need snacks and having snacks on hand or pre-packaged is one of the keys to making smart, healthy choices.  Navitas Naturals has a wide selection of gluten-free products that just so happen to be perfect for snacks.

Today I am going to focus on the Trail Mix.  Navitas Naturals makes two different varieties of Trail Mix:

  • 3 Berry – Cacao Nib – Cashew
  • Mulberry – Goji – Goldenberries

I received a complimentary sample of the 3 Berry – Cacao Nib – Cashew Trail Mix to sample.  I couldn’t have been happier with the ingredients in this mix:

Organic goji berries (Lycium barbarum), organic mulberries (Morus alba), organic goldenberries (Physalis peruviana), organic cacao nibs (Theobroma cacao), organic raw cashews (Anacardium occidentale)

Cashews are one of my favorite nuts and I have a special love for cacao nibs!  I enjoyed this mix not only straight out of the bag, but on many salads and on top of ice cream, too!  I know putting something so healthy on top of ice cream may seem like it defeats the purpose, but au contraire, I actually made that ice cream more healthy!   This mix didn’t last long in my house and I didn’t share it with anyone; I think the goji berries and cacao nibs scared them off.  This trail mix, along with the other variety, won’t melt in hot cars or backpacks, making them perfect for packing for a long day away from home.

The mixes are available for $5.99 online through the Navitas website or for a little less on Amazon when purchased in a pack of 4.  Some local health food stores across the US carry Navitas Naturals.  To see where you can buy the products near you, please visit this link.

Have you tried either of the Navitas Naturals Trail Mixes?  What is your favorite trail mix?
