Bora Bora Organic Foods is a new company that makes delicious gluten-free bars. The bars are classified in one of three categories – Antioxidant, Energy and Superfood. They are creatively named and consist mostly of fruits, seeds and nuts. The Bora Bora Foods website has a nice feature that allows you to search by ingredient. If you want a bar with pomegranate or agave, you can easily find the bars that contain those ingredients, simply by clicking on the ingredient. Bora Bora bars are free of a lot more than gluten. As noted below, they are dairy and soy free and don’t contain any refined sugars or preservatives. The bars are all Kosher and Vegan as well.
Description of products from the Bora Bora website:

The philosophy of the company is one that promotes the use of organic ingredients to create nourishing foods that also taste great. It’s a pretty simple concept, not unlike the place the company is named after – Bora Bora. “Pure as the Place” is the way the company sees their products.
Of the three Bora Bora bars I tried, Exotic Coconut Almond was my least favorite. It had a wonderful taste but was a bit too crunchy for me. The Tribal Cinnamon Oatmeal bar is really nice in both taste and texture and would be perfect when you need to supplement your breakfast when traveling. It contains 10% of the RDA of fiber. In fact, all the bars pack a lot of fiber which is not always the case with gluten-free bars. My absolute favorite bar so far is the Island Brazil Nut Almond. The combination of several nuts, pumpkin seeds, crispy brown rice, rosemary and raisins is simply sublime!
One of the things I’ve noticed about several gluten-free bars that I like is that they are just a bit too sweet for my taste. I can think of three top selling bars that I’d classify that way. Even though none of them contain refined sugar, they are still overly sweet for my personal taste. The Bora Bora bars – or the three I’ve tried anyway – are perfectly sweetened for me. Obviously taste is subjective but these bars will be a part of my food stash from now on so I hope they will be sold in my local stores soon.
