Review: Pamela’s Whenever Bars

Pamela’s Products have been around since 1988 when Pamela left the family bakery business to start her own company founded on the premise that gluten-free foods can taste great!  The entire history of Pamela’s and her family business can be viewed on the website.  The newest product to hit the shelves from Pamela’s products are Whenever bars.  I had the opportunity to sample these bars over the past few days & I can’t wait to share my thoughts about them!

There are 4 different varieties of bars:

  • Oat Blueberry Lemon
  • Oat Cranberry Almond
  • Oat Chocolate Chip Coconut
  • Oat Raisin Walnut Spice

Some more facts about the new bars:

“Whenever Bars are our first on-the-go gluten-free snack,” said President and Founder Pamela Giusto-Sorrells, a third generation natural foods entrepreneur and baker. “I wanted to create a great tasting snack that anybody can enjoy wherever, whenever. They’re made with simple, real ingredients such as cranberries, blueberries, raisins and dark chocolate so you’ll feel satisfied, not hungry, after you eat one.”

Only the highest quality ingredients are used in Pamela’s Whenever Bars, including gluten-free oats, almonds and walnuts. The addition of chia seeds gives the bars a significant Omega 3 essential fatty acids and dietary fiber boost. They’re also non-dairy, low in sodium and cholesterol, and lightly sweetened primarily with agave and coconut sugar. With nine grams of whole grains per serving, the bars meet the Whole Grain Council’s requirements for wholesome grain servings and include the council’s stamp on their packaging.

I was very impressed with these bars.  While they are all very good, my favorites are the oat chocolate chip coconut & raisin walnut spice.  The bars are somewhat soft & moist, but not too moist, and have a great flavor & texture.  I love that there are chunks of the ingredients in the bars, just as mentioned above.  Even the little boy that I babysit, only 19 months old, loved these!  He kept asking for more once he had eaten my entire snack!  I can see these being a permanent addition to our snack options.  They are very easy to toss in a purse or backpack or even the glove box in your car.

Whenever bars can soon be found in stores across the US for a suggested retail price of $4.99 for a box of 5.  They can also be found on (best deal).  If you are interested in trying the Whenever bars, head over to Pamela’s Facebook page and “Like” it to receive a $1.00 off coupon and a 15% off code to use on
