Review: Popcorn, Indiana Chip’Ins

Earlier this year I had the opportunity to review some of Popcorn Indiana’s gourmet popcorn.  It was out of this world!  When they asked if I would be interested in sampling their Chip’Ins, I was excited!  If they were anywhere as near as good as the popcorn, I knew I was in for a treat.

We sampled both the white cheddar and the buffalo wing varieties.  I have to tell you that I fell in love with the white cheddar!  The flavor reminded me of cheddar popcorn – probably because the chips are made from popcorn, right?  The chips have a very unique texture.  I was worried at first that I wouldn’t care for the texture, but I loved it!   The chips were crisp and flavorful and had great balance of seasoning in every bite!  The buffalo wing variety was very good as well – just the right amount of zing!  I can’t wait to try the sea salt variety!

Is Popcorn, Indiana gluten free?

Yes. Popcorn and other corn varieties are naturally free of gluten. Gluten is a protein typically found in barley, wheat, rye, their cross-breeds (triticale), and by-products such as flour and MSG. While none of our products contain any of these ingredients and popcorn is a gluten-free grain, we had a FDA-affiliated lab analyze our popcorn because we are very concerned about our customers. The test results found no traces of gluten using the AOAC/CODEX Certified R5 method at a 20 parts per million accuracy level.
