Trader Joe’s has a wide variety of gluten-free products in their line up. Some are old favorites and come back season after season, some seem to disappear from the shelves and never return. I believe peanut flour is one of those to be discontinued. Anyway, I found a couple of new products today and there is one that I do believe that I am going to have to gush over – Mango Butter.

Trader Joe's Mango Butter
I have been singing the praises of Trader Joe’s Pumpkin Butter for a few seasons now. They also make Cranberry Apple and while it is tasty, it never had the same appeal to me as the Pumpkin Butter did. Last time I was in the store I saw a new variety – Honey Apple Butter. While it sounded good, it didn’t jump into my cart like the Mango Butter did today.
As I was driving home, I began to think about how I was going to try the newest fruit butter. Would I spread it on some gluten-free toast? Would I stir into some yogurt? Topping for my ice cream? I quickly ruled out the ice cream as I only have chocolate in the freezer and that combo didn’t sound so good. I am out of yogurt, so straight by spoon it was!
I have to tell you that I believe I have a new spring/summer favorite! This stuff is really, really good! I can’t see many foods that I wouldn’t like this on! I would even think that it would make a tasty glaze for chicken or pork. The ingredients are simple: mango, sugar, water, pectin, lime juice concentrate.
Trader Joe’s maintains a gluten-free product list that is periodically updated on their website. This list can also be seen in the store as well; simply ask a store employee to see it. Many of the gluten-free products have a symbol on them that says “no gluten ingredients”.
Have you had a chance to sample any of Trader Joe’s fruit butters? What did you think? Do you have a favorite?
