Udi’s Gluten-Free Pizza Crust

UdispizzacrustsforDEUdi’s Foods, based in Denver, Colorado, has expanded their gluten-free line to include pizza crusts. They come pre-baked and frozen, in packs of 2, and in one size, a mini or personal pizza size. It is really nice that they come pre-baked. One of the major downsides of many pizza crust mixes is the actual mixing and baking time. A great solution to that is a crust the is ready to top and bake, like these Udi’s pizza crusts. Just top with your favorite toppings and bake until everything melts and looks good.

The Udi’s pizza crust holds up well to slight over heating and can hold a lot of toppings. It also soaks up some sauce, which is a nice change from the harder or crunchier pizza crusts that seem to keep sauce and ingredients floating on top, leading to lots of sliding and toppings falling right off. Another nice thing about these pizza crusts is the bottom, which has a coarse (probably corn meal) dusting, a reminder of the traditional pizzas made in large brick ovens. Some people really don’t like this feel on their pizza, but I enjoyed it very much.

You can order Udi’s products on their website, http://www.udisfood.com/glutenfree.php or look for them locally (in King Soopers, some Whole Foods, Vitamin Cottage, and other stores).

I can not say Thank You enough for creating such yummy product. I recently discover Udi”s at the Whole Foods in San Antonio. I had the most amazing grilled cheese with the sandwich bread, and have reinstituted pizza night after tasting the crusts!! Better and cheaper than Amy’s!!!
