Walker’s Gluten-Free Shortbread

On one of my many shopping trips over the past week, I ran across a display of gluten-free cookies that I hadn’t seen before. Walker’s has been baking shortbread for over 100 years now, but just recently added some gluten-free varieties to their line up.

The gluten-free line contains no artificial flavorings or colorings, no GMOs and is certified gluten-free and Kosher.

The three different varieties of Walker’s Gluten-Free Shortbread are:

Pure Butter Shortbread – Ingredients: Flour blend (rice, potato starch, maize stabiliser: xanthan gum), butter (milk) (29%), sugar, salt.

Chocolate Chip Shortbread – Ingredients: Flour blend (rice, potato starch, maize, stabiliser: xanthan gum), butter (milk) (26%), sugar, dark chocolate chips (12%) (sugar, cocoa mass, cocoa butter, emulsifier: soya lecithin, natural vanilla flavouring), salt.

Ginger and Lemon Shortbread – Ingredients: Flour blend (rice, potato starch, maize, stabiliser: xanthan gum), butter (milk) (27%), sugar, crystallised stem ginger (9%) (stem ginger, sugar), ground ginger, lemon oil, salt.

I found these at Giant Eagle in Lewis Center, Ohio (suburb of Columbus). They can be purchased online for $4.99/box directly from the Walker’s website and shipping is free on all orders over $50.
