Wendy’s Updates Gluten-Free Menu

Wendy’s recently updated their menu and that means checking to see if there are new gluten-free items. This also means checking to ensure that foods that were gluten-free in the past are still gluten-free. Continuing diligence is required as menus change and suppliers change.

There are some new items I noticed on the gluten-free menu, including the Asian Cashew Chicken Salad and the BBQ Ranch Chicken Salad. Some other favorites on the Wendy’s gluten-free menu are:

  • Chili
  • Baked potato
  • Frosty (various flavors)

It is important to inform the employee preparing your food to take care to not cut your chicken on the same surface as food that contains gluten. I also ask that they don’t cut open my baked potato if I order one plain or use a clean knife to cut it open. Wendy’s has information about gluten on their website, indicating they do have some understanding of Celiac Disease and gluten intolerance. However, I still ask questions and say “please” and “thank you” for taking good care of me while I asking for special preparations. Kindness goes a long way.

Wendy’s has locations across the US, making it a great place to depend on for gluten-free options while traveling.

Thank you for the update. I just want to let others know, I have visited 4 different locations in CT and they are do not follow gluten free standards. Always check before ordering! The managers looked at me like I was crazy and responded with, “No we don’t carry that.” Very interesting as other locations are very aware of gluten free needs.
