What would you like to see?

This post is going to be a little different than our typical posts, instead of writing about a new gluten-free product or restaurant review, we would like to take this opportunity to hear from our readers.

While we are all reading Celiac-Disease.com to learn more about gluten-free living, we may all be coming here for different reasons.  Some of us have children with celiac, some want to learn how to understand their celiac friend or significant other, some want recipes, some want to learn about new products, some want the latest news about celiac research, some have recently been diagnosed themselves and are trying to navigate their new gluten-free lifestyle.  The diversity is endless, and we would like to hear from you, so we can provide more information and write articles that are the most useful for our readers.

I know that even though I was diagnosed with celiac three years ago and have been living a 100% gluten-free lifestyle ever since, I am constantly researching information online, whether it is about a menu at a local restaurant; what I can expect when I travel to a different country; or the debate on whether blue cheese and distilled alcohol is safe.  Sometimes I am in the grocery store aisle, and need quick information on a product, and am so thankful when I can pull out my phone and find a review about it online.

That being said, we would love to hear from you about the following:

Is there an article on here you keep coming back to as a reference?

What gluten-free information do you regularly search for online?

What do you find the most helpful on Celiac-Disease.com?

Is there something you would like to see that you have not seen on this site?

What type of articles would you like to see more?

Please respond and let us know your thoughts.  We look forward to reading your feedback.

I would like a LIST of all the Gluten-free foods I can eat. A link would be great. PLEASE help me out.
    Thank You

I don’t get out to the grocery store much in which I’m able to browse. So the articles that detail new food products that can be readily found in grocery stores or readily available items at restaurants (such as Red Robin beginning to carry Udi’s hamburger buns) are most helpful to me. I can easily get in ruts too when it comes to what I eat, so thanks for providing some variety.

  3. Anne Steib says:

I can do that…at least a list of all the common foods that are safe and to avoid. Thank you for the input!

I have been Gluten free for 3yrs. and Dairy free for about 1yr. and now Soy free for a couple of monhs. It has been very difficult to find Packaged, boxed and even ice cream I can eat.
Most of the dairy free products have soy in them, very frustrating! Do you know of a website that could list brands of products that are free of these foods?

I would like to see articles about losing weight now that we gain it on a gluten free diet.

    Thank you.

I’ve found that cutting back on all processed foods, and eating more whole foods (meats and plants, mostly plants) and healthy fats (butter, coconut oil, olive oil) has helped me lose weight. Keeping my blood sugar from spiking has been a really helpful thing too, by cutting back on starchy foods (GF replacement foods, chips, potatoes, rice, etc).

I enjoy your articles tremendously, even though I cannot purchase the new items you mention, nor can I eat at the restaurants you review. I live in a small town in the midwest.

However, I could use some more information on eating a low fat, cardiac diet along with being gluten free.
Most of my searching on the internet is for gf recipes and menu ideas.

I have followed the GF diet for 12 years since diagnosis.

I enjoy your product reviews the most.

  8. Amy says:

I have 2 daughters 6 & 5 who have celiac and I would love some kid friendly recipes. Also a list of beauty products of familar manufactures that dont use any gluten from hair spray to hand lotion. I always look forward to your emails.

    Thank you,
    Amy McNamara

    Hi,

I would love to see gluten free recipes for kids. A list of well known companies that have gluten free hair spray & lotions etc.

    Thank you,
    Amy McNamara

  10. Elizabeth says:

I’m with Amy, too… a list of beauty products that are GF would be helpful. Or posts on/links to alternative eating styles that are naturally gluten free. We’ve gone “whole foods” around my house, and so we focus less on “gluten free alternatives to the Standard American Diet.”

  11. Mary says:

I need info on travel to Germany, Grocery stores for GF foods

  12. Anne Steib says:

Thank you for your responses, we will try and get articles posted soon to address what everyone wants to see. I agree, food is one thing, but then when you think about navigating through personal care products it can be a whole new challenge. I have certain brands I stick with, but I will also write an article very soon about it. Why must oats be in everything?? Thanks!
