It was just about a year ago that Williams-Sonoma began to offer gluten-free baking mixes. As we quickly approach the 2012 Holiday season, Williams-Sonoma has added several new gluten-free baking mixes.
The new mixes are made using the Cup4Cup gluten-free flour designed by Chef Thomas Keller.
Gluten-free Sugar Cookie Mix – Sweeten the season with a fresh-baked batch of gluten-free sugar cookies. With our convenient mix on your pantry shelf, they’re easy to make at a moment’s notice – just add butter and eggs. Enjoy these classic cookies warm from the oven, accompanied by a tall glass of cold milk. Your homemade treats are also perfect for decorating with colorful icings, sugars and sprinkles.
Gluten-free Pie Crust Mix – The ultimate gluten-free pastry crusts start with our premium mix, custom-blended using Chef Thomas Keller’s signature Cup4Cup flour. This gluten-free flour was carefully developed as an exact replacement for all-purpose flour, so you enjoy a perfectly tender, golden crust.
Gluten-Free Cupcake Mixes – These mixes come in Chocolate, Vanilla or Red Velvet. Bake flavorful cupcakes that are tender, moist and 100% gluten free with our foolproof mixes. We use premium ingredients like Guittard cocoa powder, Madagascar Bourbon vanilla and Chef Thomas Keller’s Cup4Cup gluten-free flour, which produces a classic texture without any ingredient substitutions—just add eggs, oil, milk and water. Top your cupcakes with one of our frostings (sold separately) or use the included recipe for homemade buttercream.
These mixes are available online or in stores, just in time to bake for the holidays, or give as gifts. I know there have been many times I have walked into Williams-Sonoma looking for a unique gift to give someone who either has everything, is tough to buy for, or I may not know well enough to buy something personal. They would also make a great “Cheering Up” gift for someone newly diagnosed to help show them that the gluten-free diet isn’t all that bad.
Williams-Sonoma has stores located across the US.
