Zoup Fresh Soup Company Gluten-Free Options

I recently noticed a Zoup Fresh Soup Company opened up not far from our house. I had never heard of Zoup before, so I decided to do some research to see if they offered gluten-free options.  Soup is one of those comfort foods that really hits the spot on a chilly winter day.

Turns out that Zoup does have a variety of gluten-free (products made with gluten-free ingredients) soups:

  • Fire Roasted Tomato Bisque
  • Frontier 7 Bean
  • Ginger Butternut Squash
  • Manhattan Clam Chowder
  • Potato Cheddar
  • Pumpkin Pie Bisque
  • Tomato Basil
  • Tomato Vegetables
  • Tomato Spinach & Brown Rice
  • Zesty 3 Pepper with Chicken
  • Gazpacho
There are also several salad dressings that are free of gluten, including Raspberry Vinaigrette, Ranch and Caesar Dressing.  If you are looking for a snack to pair with your meal, check out the Veggie or Tortilla Chips.  There are several soups on the list that caught my eye, including the Potato Cheddar, Pumpkin Pie Bisque and the Ginger Butternut Squash.
Zoup Fresh Soup Company has locations in fifteen states and Ontario.  When dining out, please  remember to exercise caution, especially if the environment is not exclusively gluten-free.
Have you tried any of the gluten-free options at Zoup?

The Zoup nearest me doesn’t seem to understand that without some GF bread or crackers to cushion acid and cool spices, perhaps they should offer at least ONE low acid/spice GF soup per day. I think the veggie chips are much too heavily coated — they taste like a mouthful of sugar and salt to me. Also they are extremely crumbly. The one time I tried them, I aspirated crumbs 4 times. Between them being overly sweet/salty and bone dry, I have no plans to ever eat those again.

    Potato cheddar sounds downright dreamy.

    Today’s choices?

Simply Gazpacho LF, DF, V, GF-Assorted fresh vegetables in TOMATO juice, with a dash of TABASCO

Cucumber Gazpacho LF, DF, V, GF-Cucumbers and assorted fresh vegetables in Zoup! Savory Vegetarian broth, with fresh JALAPENO and Green TABASCO.

Fire Roasted Tomato Bisque V, GF – Creamy, grill-roasted TOMATO base with a medley of seasonal vegetables.

North Indian Lentil GF,V,DF,S – RED CURRY based soup with red lentils, TOMATOES, spinach, garlic, ginger & herbs.

We just tried Zoup! For the first time today. Six of the 12 soups on offer were gluten free. All soups were clearly marked for gluten, dairy, vegan, low fat, and spicy. They let my picky child try four kinds with a great attitude and subbed the included bread with a bag of gf kettle chips. The soup was tasty ans one of the servers is celiac too, and he feels very comfortable with their kitchen practices, so we will happily add Zoup to our list of safe places.
