If you live in the United States, there is a good chance that you’ve got a Carrabba’s Italian Grill within driving distance of where you live. Although Italian restaurants tend to feature a ton of the typically gluten-filled pasta and pizzas, surprisingly the Carrabba’s Italian Grill restaurant chain does offer one of the more impressive gluten-free menus!

While visiting their official website, I was able to locate an online version of Carrabba’s gluten-free menu (PDF), which provides an impressive list of options for an Italian restaurant. The gluten-free menu includes any special instructions you will need to give your server when you place your order and also features an entire page of gluten-free beverages which are safe for someone on a gluten-free diet to consume.

As always, when dining out gluten-free, do your due diligence and make sure the staff understands your needs. There are very few restaurants that are 100% gluten-free, so cross-contamination is always a risk. If you don’t feel comfortable with what you are hearing from the staff, perhaps it is best to dine elsewhere.

I have eaten there many time and have gottin sick 2 times ordering off of their gluten free menu. I’m not going for a 3rd.
I went to Carrabba’s once after hearing they they had a gluten free menu. It was a print out. They were unwilling clean part of the grill to cook me anything that was listed on the gluten free grill section of the menu after warning me that the grill shared cooking area with other gluten containing meat sauces. That left nothing to eat. I just had a spirte while my family ate.
I do not consider them to be gluten free. I have given them several opportunities but they still manage to get pasta in my sauteed spinach 5 out of 6 times. I have sat and watched and they have pasta water splashing all around the grill. I would not consider this a safe choice.
You are right, Stacy, thanks for commenting. I would NOT consider them a safe choice either. I plan to travel to the states in a few months and just came across the business here and since have taken them to task over FALSE gluten free advertising at my HubPage earlier today located at http://hubpages.com/_17b85u8qljaoh/t/2322cf

I dined at the Carrabba’s Italian Grill in Stuart, Florida last night. I asked the server if the meal I was ordering was Gluten Free. He replied YES it was. He did not offer me a Gluten Free menu at anytime. Within seconds I had a bowl of soup put in front of me and I started to eat it. About halfway thru’ I started to find pieces of pasta in the soup and complained to the server, he offered to replace, saying they must have picked up the same one. I declined his offer. He said he would inform his Manager. He didn’t. The Manager made a routine visit to the table, I made him aware of the situation. He offered me a free dessert, which I never received. I asked him if he knew the effect the soup could have on me. He said Yes! I would throw up. He obviously had no idea of the effects of eating gluten on the human body. I ordered a cup of coffee, I received a cup of warm coffee, which I sent back and they replaced with another cup of warm coffee. Which I did not drink. All in all a very bad experience in this Carrabbass Italian Grill.
