Taco Bell’s Gluten-Free Menu

Last Updated on March 14, 2023 by the Celiac-Disease.com Staff

Do you have a Taco Bell in your area that you’d like to eat at?   It seems like most places around the United States have a Taco Bell, so I decided to do some research and see what Taco Bell has that is truly gluten-free.

Unfortunately, my research produced limited results, but I did find this Taco Bell allergens chart which includes gluten as one of the many allergens on the list.  It certainly isn’t an ideal or definitive list, but it was updated recently and hopefully will help some people who are determined to dine at a Taco Bell.

In the meantime, I will keep an eye on the official Taco Bell website for a gluten-free menu.  Once one is posted, I will be sure to get this post updated with their official gluten-free information!

As always, when dining out gluten-free, do your due diligence and make sure the staff understands your needs. There are very few restaurants that are 100% gluten-free, so cross-contamination is always a risk. If you don’t feel comfortable with what you are hearing from the staff, perhaps it is best to dine elsewhere.

Boston Market’s Gluten-Free Menu

Last Updated on March 2, 2024 by the Celiac-Disease.com Staff

Boston Market is a restaurant chain we used to have in our area, but I don’t believe we have them any longer. However, reader Jane contacted us to see if we had any information about Boston Market and a gluten-free menu.

After some research on this topic, I was able to locate an official allergens page on the Boston Market website. Their allergens list DOES include gluten as one of the allergens, but comes with the following disclaimer:

This list is compiled based on production information provided by Boston Market approved food manufacturers as of the date published. Boston Market does not guarantee that cross-contact with other gluten-containing products or allergens will not occur. We encourage anyone with food sensitivities, allergies, or special dietary needs to check back on a regular basis for up-to-date information.

When in doubt whether a product may contain a particular allergen, we recommend you purchase a pre-packaged manufactured novelty treat, which contains an ingredient listing and nutrition facts panel on the package.

Dairy Queen® restaurants are very busy and cross contamination may occur between ingredients. Thus a 100% confidence level cannot be guaranteed. It is important that you ask your local Dairy Queen® restaurant for an ingredient listing of the specific item in question and let them know of your special needs.

Buffalo Wild Wing’s Gluten-Free Menu

Last Updated on March 14, 2023 by the Celiac-Disease.com Staff

Does Buffalo Wild Wings (BWW) offer a gluten-free menu? After a quick review of their official website, I was unable to find anything other than a brief mention of Allergen Information on their FAQ page which requests you contact them directly with allergen inquiries.

Official Website Menu Information: Buffalo Wild Wings Gluten-Free Menu
Location Finder: Find a Buffalo Wild Wings Location Near You

Before contacting Buffalo Wild Wings, I decided to do a quick Google search and was able to locate this post which was published recently by Zach of Gluten-Free Raleigh. In his post, Zach mentions recently contacting Buffalo Wild Wings and was given the following information:

So, I fired off an email to BW3 asking for the PDF allergen menu information. Turns out it would be easier if they would just update the above statement saying if you are gluten-free to STAY AWAY. They promptly responded with an Allergen List and information about the ingredients in their burger seasonings and wing sauces. Below is a summary and my word of caution.

  • BW3 traditional chicken wings, fries, buffalo chips, boneless (breaded) chicken wings and tortilla chips are all cooked in a deep fryer which is shared by everything else fried. NOT gluten-free.
  • All grilled items including naked chicken tenders (themselves GF) are cooked on the same grill. NOT gluten-free.
  • BW3 burgers contain Gluten, burger seasoning does not. NOT gluten-free.
  • BW3 sweet BBQ Wing Sauce, Teriyaki Sauce and Asian Zing Wing Sauce do contain Gluten. Other sauces do not but as mentioned before the risk of cross-contact exists with all products that could be sauced.

You can probably have some celery and Ranch dressing, coleslaw, or salsa without tortilla chips but that’s about it. Hope you are not too hungry.

UNO’s Chicago Grill Gluten-Free Menu

Last Updated on March 12, 2023 by the Celiac-Disease.com Staff

Roughly two months ago we wrote about the UNO Chicago Grill restaurant chain releasing a gluten-free pizza at a portion of their restaurants. Well, it appears this experiment was a success, as I’ve seen several reports that gluten-free pizzas are now available at all UNO Chicago Grill restaurant locations!

Here is an excerpt from the release from UNO Chicago Grill:

Recently lauded as America’s Healthiest Chain Restaurant, UNO has added gluten-free cheese and pepperoni pizzas to what is already one of the most extensive gluten-free menus available for a casual dining chain. This is good news to the estimated three million Americans diagnosed with celiac disease, as well as an additional seven million Americans who have a wheat intolerance or allergy and rely on gluten-free foods. While awareness of celiac disease is rising, an estimated 97 percent of those who have it remain undiagnosed.

Guidara explained that it took over a year of research and development to find just the right recipe for a brand that is known for its iconic pizza. “While we want to meet the needs of guests with allergies, we never forget that we are about great taste and choice, and that means developing new dishes that are healthful without sacrificing great flavor.”

UNO Chicago Grill works closely with its Nutrition Advisory Board, which meets quarterly to discuss trends and solutions to improve the quality and nutritional value of its menu. Guidara oversees the Advisory Board and brings his expertise as a member of the Harvard School of Public Health Nutrition Roundtable.
