Denny’s Gluten-Free Menu

Last Updated on March 14, 2023 by the Celiac-Disease.com Staff

Although they aren’t as prominent as they once were, it seems that there are still a large number of Denny’s restaurants scattered throughout the United States. As a result, you’d assume they had a prominent gluten-free menu listed somewhere on their official website. Unfortunately, a review of their official website doesn’t list a gluten-free menu, but instead a nutrition/allergens listing, which can be viewed here.

Official Website Menu Information: Denny’s Gluten-Free Menu
Location Finder: Find a Denny’s Location Near You

If you decide you want to try eating gluten-free at a Denny’s, here is some information I dug up about gluten-free options on their menu, but please note this is slightly outdated so as always please explain your needs to your server prior to placing your order.

As always, when dining out gluten-free, do your due diligence and make sure the staff understands your needs. There are very few restaurants that are 100% gluten-free, so cross-contamination is always a risk. If you don’t feel comfortable with what you are hearing from the staff, perhaps it is best to dine elsewhere.

As far as I heard they do not. Someone suggested asking for it to not be toasted. I had their nachos which is marked GF on their menu but am now in a lot of pain. ?

Dennys now (June 2015) has Gluten Free on their main menu in the restaurant. They also have the most amazing gluten free English muffin I have ever eaten. Give them a try they are very accommodating in Waco.

August 2016: they still don’t have a dedicated fryer and they toast the GF muffin in the same toaster as regular breads,

I found out what gluten free English muffinst hey use. They are Glutino brand and I buy them at my local WalMart and Scnucks grocery stores. Walmart only charges $4.99 for six. They are great and I use them now for hamburger buns and toast them and eat them with grape jelly and peanut butter. Yum!

I bought these toaster bags on amazon and they put my English muffin in them before putting in toaster. Have no problems!

I’m at a Denny’s right now. The server said they only cook potatoes and tortillas in the fryolator. I asked if the French fries were coated. He said they were; I didn’t order the nachos

DO NOT eat here!! Before we were even sat I asked for a GF menu and was told all the GF items are identified on the menu. When my food came my plate was covered in gravy, not the food just the plate. Since my food came back in less than 2 minutes, on a cold plate, I was sure it was the same food. I had decided not to risk it but since we were traveling and it would be a while before I could eat again, my husband asked them to completely remake the food he was told it was but they would do it again. However this time took 10 minutes and came on a warm plate. The waitress told me the GF muffin was cooked in the regular toaster would that be a problem? As she is setting the plate down in front of me; the English muffin was also placed on top of the hash browns. She apologized and told me “it’s just so rare that someone has a gluten issue”. I wanted ask why they went through the trouble of identifying GF items on the menu if it is rare but did not. She was also so happy to tell me I would not be charged for my meal. When we went to pay for the rest of the ticket, I asked for the manager. Though I received gluten 3 times I did not raise my voice nor did I cuss, I kept my cool and treated him with respect, he did not return it but he did tell me there was no reason to be upset about any of it and especially or with him as he has nothing to do with it. He voided the entire ticket not caring that he is responsible for the restaurant he manages and food it serves. I would hope he would have take me seriously but he told me I no reason to be upset. I told him I wanted to pay for the other food that the purpose was cross contamination. He completely felt free food was the solution. I have never ate at Denny’s and never will again. If you put GF on the menu, be responsible to find out what that means!
