If you are a fan of Chinese food, you are probably already familiar with PF Chang’s, which is a very large restaurant chain that offers a very impressive gluten-free menu. However, if you get tired of PF Chang’s you may want to check out their other restaurant chain, Pei Wei Asian Diner, which can be found throughout many states within the United States.

According to my research, Pei Wei Asian Diner offers five gluten-free choices, many of which have special instructions to give your waiter when you place your order. Below I’ve listed all five choices and the special instructions for your convenience.
Pei Wei Asian Diner’s Gluten-Free Menu
- Vietnamese Chicken Salad Rolls – (order without Thai peanut sauce)
- Asian Chopped Chicken Salad – (substitute lime vinaigrette dressing and no wonton strips)
- Pei Wei Spicy Chicken Salad – (shrimp can be substituted)
- Pei Wei Spicy – (choice of chicken or shrimp)
- Pei Wei Sweet & Sour – (choice of non-battered chicken or shrimp)
Because ingredients can change, I’m also going to suggest you also check out the most updated version of Pei Wei Asian Diner’s gluten-free menu.

As always, when dining out gluten-free, do your due diligence and make sure the staff understands your needs. There are very few restaurants that are 100% gluten-free, so cross-contamination is always a risk. If you don’t feel comfortable with what you are hearing from the staff, perhaps it is best to dine elsewhere.

I love Pei Wei’s GF Sweet & Sour Chicken – the shrimp version of it is great as well.
I didn’t enjoy the “Vietnamese Chicken Salad Rolls ” – plus I was hungry again a short while after eating them – not filling.
The “Pei Wei Spicy ” is ok.

Just tried Pei Wei’s GF menu for the first time in South Florida. First, I had the Vietnamese Chicken Salad Rolls. They were great. Wrapped in rice paper with spicy sweet and sour sauce on the side. They are served cold. Second, I had the Sweet & Sour chicken. The menu says non-battered chicken, but when it came out, it definitely looked like it was battered. I called the manager over and he immediately reassured me it was GF and was coated with potato starch and fried. He also told me they used fresh oil to fry it. Both dishes were great and the fact that the manager was knowledgeable of my needs made it even better!

I have stayed with the vietnamese rolls as my GF Pei Wei choice and they are great, light and generally very fresh-tasting. Tonight I tried the GF spicy chicken and it was Awesome!

From my Yelp review:
After looking at some online reviews, I made the mistake of trusting that their glutton free menu would actually be glutton free. My girlfriend has a severe glutton allergy, which I explained to the woman working the register and I was assured the meal would be glutton free. 20 minutes later my girlfriend was vomiting and taking Benadryl. Fortunately she caught it before she ate too much so she just had a bad night and not an ER visit. I understand that some people don’t eat glutton just “because”, but for some people it is a serious food allergy. You can kill somebody this way. I spoke to the manager, who not only didn’t comp the meal they mis-made, but assured me he had made the food himself and it was glutton free. Which means the manager himself doesn’t know the proper way to make sure the food is not cross contaminated. I was given a card and was told he would call me after they closed up. I never heard from him. If you can not eat glutton DO NOT trust this place to make your food.
