Review: Udi’s Gluten-Free Ziti and Meatballs

Last Updated on March 1, 2023 by the Celiac-Disease.com Staff Leave a Comment

Last fall I shared some exciting information about Udi’s gluten-free adding some new frozen meals to their impressive product line-up. Recently I spotted some of these new products in our local grocery stores and purchased a couple to try them out. Today I am going to review Udi’s gluten-free Ziti & Meatballs that I found last week at Walmart when I ran in to look for school supplies and waterproof boots. I just can’t help wandering around to look for fun, new gluten-free food items.

The Ziti & Meatballs is a frozen, DIY meal that serves two average people or one hungry teenager. Each portion contains 18 grams of protein and goes perfectly with an Italian salad and gluten-free garlic bread (use Udi’s French Baguettes).

IMG 4451I can’t believe how quickly this meal cooked and how good it tasted! The aroma in the kitchen smelled like we had been cooking all day long! Jon fell in love and even though he proclaimed the meatballs to be a little too round, he asked me to buy them again. I like meals like this to help him learn to prepare his own food. The price was roughly $8.00, which isn’t bad considering it serves 2

Udi’s gluten-free Ziti & Meatballs can be found in the gluten-free freezer section of your local grocery store. If you are looking for something specific, check with your store manager.

Have you tried Udi’s gluten-free Ziti & Meatballs? What did you think?

I tried the meatball one a few weeks ago. It was ok to me, it was $10 at my local Safeway, and not worth it to me. The cheese bits stuck to the pan also, had to take steel wool to get it off.

Thanks for the review! I found them a couple of weeks ago at my WalMart as well, I haven’t tried them yet, but I will let you know if my family likes them when I do. I’ve never been a frequent WalMart shopper, but now I shop there more often because they have an excellent selection of GF items…I always find something new. I encourage anyone that has a WalMart nearby to go take a look. As long as zi am writing, I will also tell you all about another quick and easy to prepare meal. WalMart’s Great Value brand has their version of GF Hamburger Helper that I encourage you to try. They have 2 flavors…Cheeseburger flavor and Beef Stroganoff flavor. I LOVE cheeseburger HH and was excited to find that the cheeseburger flavor tastes just the the real deal…my husband and kids like it as well. Thank you for all of your product reviews, Lisa. They are so helpful and I have found many new items that I love! 🙂

Great quick option for gf families on the go! Finally diagnosed with Celiac only but 4 years ago, I had often used other frozen skillet meals so you can imagine how excited I was to finally have a tasty option for a quick family gf meal! With a growing gf son, and hungry non gf husband, we can heat up 2 bags in no time and sit down and enjoy a safe dinner together after a very busy day. 🙂

The meals were very tasty. The first problem with them is one bag is not enough for two people! The second problem is I have now tried it three different times and each time each flavor it has made me sick!

Love these. Health food stores expensive. Safeway and winco better price. Best price grocery outlet. I love these, now haven’t been seeing them lately. Cheese ravioli good. Do you make UDI meat raviolo. Live in eureka California. Love your products.
